| Well it has been a VERY long time since I've posted on the forum. Figured it was about time and a good opportunity to share my dyno results after new engine and build. I usually only drive my regular car about 6,000 miles a year, so it was torture to make it through the 3,000 mile break in period. Had to make up excuses to make extra trips to the store just to put on a few more miles. ;-) First, thanks to Kyle at IPP for a kick a** long block, Coz for some great parts at great prices and Guapo for fantastic work to put everything together! And last but not least, Nick/Greg/Bernie for all their 'embedded' knowledge about the AFC Neo in 'Search'. You can check out my profile for mods, but basically an IPP stage I long block with Sport 500's, single intake, 740cc injectors (for future growth if desired), Z1 intercoolers, MS Manifolds, CZP split down pipes and Stock Cats (yes, with cats), AVCR and AFC Neo. Goal of this dyno session (end up being 2 hours on 21st Century Muscle Cars Dynojet) was to get AFR to a safe range and then consider upping to some mid boost settings. Took longer to get the AFR to an acceptable range and only did one 'higher' boost run, but still well below max. Did 2 base line runs swapping the EG probe between the pipes to make sure we were getting equal readings. Base line runs at .70 kg/cm2 (9.95psi) yielded 367hp and 376lb/tq. To be expected at that low setting with Cats. However the AFR was jacked up from 2500 to 5500 - WAY too lean. As high as 17 to 1 just below 3000 rpm but mainly around 14.5 - 13.5 to 1 up to 5700 where it got safe, around 11.5 - 12.5 to 1. Spent the next 7 runs playing with the AFC Neo, had to add as much as 35% in the low RPM ranges to get a fairly even 11.5 - 12 to 1 across the board. The 7th run yielded 363hp and 364lb/tq. Makes sense that we lost a little with heat soak and richer settings across the board. All the runs have a nice broad power band, so very happy with that outcome. The final run, #8, we bumped the boost to .95 kg/cm2 (13.5 psi) and got 381hp and 370lb/tq. Am very confident that the car will break into the low 400s with the boost set to a safe 'max' of 1.27 kg/cm2 (~ 18psi) and probably 420's by getting rid of the cats. I'll post some pics of the dyno sheets tomorrow, have to get the last of the 3 snigglets to bed. Green eggs and ham anyone?
